Business firm ENGINEERING OSTRAVA a.s. was established in 2003 as a limited liability company. From the beginning, it was engaged in the sale of metallurgical rolls to important rolling mills of long products, especially in Poland and the Czech Republic.
We managed to push through the delivery of rolls made of new progressive materials, which caused significant savings in their consumption. We outsourced the production of cast iron and cast steel rolls as well as forged rolls to leading European manufacturers. We mostly provided the finish machining and quality inspection of the rolls in the former Vítkovice machine shops in Ostrava. We started buying rolled round bars and billets from these rolling mills and to sell them to domestic service centers and die forging shops.
In 2005, we started operating a warehouse of rolled round bars in rented premises in Ostrava-Vítkovice and expanded our stock range to all commonly used structural steel qualities. In the years 2006-2008, we gradually ended the sale of metallurgical rolls and we began to fully focus on the sale of rolled round bars. Our competitive advantage was close contacts with the workers of the rolling mills and thus the opportunity to offer our customers the most efficient solution to their needs.
In 2009, the company was transformed into a joint-stock company. In 2013, the company moved to its own premises in Ostrava-Martinov. We expanded the product range to include forged and drawn bars and started offering cutting.
We currently have in stock rolled and forged round bars with diameters of 30 – 410 mm and drawn with diameters of 8 – 70 mm. We operate 3 band saws, we cut material up to a diameter of 410 mm. We have more than 700 active customers. We supply direct manufacturers of machine parts, die forges and trading companies in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
